Comments
Comments: Ice, and lots of it. Micro spikes were adequate to the junction, but once climbing a real crampon or similar (such as Hillsound Trail Crampon PRO model) is mandatory. It's that rippled wavy solid ice pouring down several long steep stretches of trail. The slide has bare ice patches as well and was a dangerous challenge. Even where 1-4" of snow was present, it was over solid ice. A minor slip could easily become a serious injury right now.
