Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Water crossings were interesting with higher water due to recent rains combined with slush that would not support weight, some ice - both thin and crunchy as well as weight-bearing. They were not impassable - we made it through the first three large crossings before coming to one that just made me (V) too nervous. There was at least one hiker ahead of us who did make it across.

Comments
Comments: An aborted attempt for the Hancocks today. Trail was in great shape - microspikes made for quick work of it, but the water crossings required a lot of time and care. Climbing on/over downed trees, icy rocks, underwater rocks with lots of slush. Many thanks to Mark, Tim and Tracey for their support when we turned around at the 4th major crossing and instead headed over to Greeley Ponds to try to extend our mileage for the day! V--
