| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Surprised to see that there were at least 8 cars in the parking lot at the Kinsman Trail when we dropped off a car. Access to parking at Reel Brook is a real truck only kind of driveway, you need high clearance. No cars there when we were dropped off at 9 am. |

| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Snow - Trace/Minimal Depth, Ice - Blue, Wet/Slippery Rock |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |
Light Traction |
|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
Rocks underwater aren't icy. The Rocks sticking above the water that have Rocks with ice and snow on them are slippery. Rock hopping across Reel Brook was simple but crossing Eliza Brook was more challenging. As we reached higher elevations more icy rocks at water crossings. The blue ice when covered with a dusting of light dry snow was grippy. (we didn't put our creepers on until the summit of South Kinsman where many people have walked over the snow and ice). |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Three cheers for the trail maintainers! Only one blowdown on Kinsman Ridge and it looks like it has been there a while since it was not too hard to duck underneath since all the branches were broken off. Lots of nice improvements and I believe the blazes on Kinsman Ridge were painted this summer. |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
Dogs have four wheel drive and crampons on demand. Nordi seemed happy and we saw three other happy dogs too. |

| Bugs: |
perhaps imaginary ones |

| Lost and Found: |
One gripper, black rubber with pointy steel beads--it is hanging on the Kinsman Trail sign. |
