we went upstream at the largest crossing, as the rocks at the trail crossing were extremely icy...all other crossings done easily rock hopping or step over |

lots of step over blowdowns on this hike; we did remove some smaller blowdowns and debris; as previously noted, no sign for the summit at the "old" summit spot-but the old summit area looked higher today than the "new" summit area/tree!! |

though a windy, chilly and somewhat viewless day, this planned hike with Rod went though as he is working on Round 2 in 2013, and has now only 4 left...about 1 to 2 inches of snow on the trails, frozen more up high where traction is needed...some ice hidden under snow, caution needed also with icy rocks...down low on the way out, snow and leaves were sticking to our microspikes under we took them off after the last crossing...layers and face protection needed today... |
