| Comments: |
About an inch of somewhat wet snow, melting as the day progressed due to unfrozen ground. Maybe 2" deep on the ridge. Snow line had moved up toward 2,500 feet by early afternoon. Some areas above the hardwood were starting to ice up a little due to foot traffic and melting/compacting. There wasn't really any need for traction today, however it might not be bad to have light traction in your pack tomorrow.
Cloudy skies, but otherwise weather seemed better than forecasted here. Hit rain on the way back to Franconia Notch. |
