Comments
Comments: ice ice baby. Very cold and blustery at Tripoli Road trailhead this morning. Trail decent with frozen surface and patchy ice to around 3200 feet. Once up to the ledges there was more ice than anything and we put on spikes which he kept on from there to East and back again. Long rivers of flow ice on ascent to Osceola..some were barebooting but they weren't happy. Saw one gentleman with g-10s on ..he looked pretty pleased with himself but they may have been overkill. Higher summits socked in..cloudline looked to be at around 4800 feet. The wind at times roared like a freight train but it was higher up and never really got above 20 on trail. Much less ice headed over to East. Very pleased to run into Bob and Geri there who had come up from the Kanc and reported only spotty iceon that side. Nice shoulder season hike with a mix of conditions and for sure a reminder to have the winter stuff with you at this point as winter has arrived above 4000 feet. Nice day out with Valerie
