Saw two people with wet feet headed back to cars - take care on those rocks. Sometimes when they look wet, they're actually covered in a layer of very slippery ice! |

I had a very sad experience coming down OBP. I was helping my dog on an steep, icy stretch. A couple, who had been leapfrogging with me for most of the afternoon, saw me struggling with my dog. They pretty much stepped right over me, carrying on their conversation as if I wasn't even there - they didn't ask if I needed help, they didn't look over their shoulders once they were past us...they didn't even break their stride. I hope that kind of disinterest in fellow hikers' difficult situations is not becoming pervasive throughout the hiking community. |
