Great day to hike these 2 mountains as the forecast for 30 MPH winds with wind chills of 30 degrees were wrong. I spent most of the day in just a long sleeve Techwick. These were MS Brandi's 16th and 17th 4K's. She was out of her comfort zone on the upper ledges on Whiteface, but we got her up them. The Rollins and Dicey's Mill trails had a lot of standing water and mud on them.
Word of caution...with all the leaves on the ground and the blazes needing a new coat of paint, it might be a challenge to get back off the trail after dark with headlamps. Even in daylight the bottom of Dicey's Mill was a little tough to follow in spots.
We did post a video of the days adventure for anyone interested in see the hike or the trail conditions. Just follow the link. |
