Comments
Comments: Firm this morning to the jct. of the Osceola Trail. Stream crossings were no problem. Running low and rocks to walk on. Spikes worked just fine from the trailhead to the steeps on E. Osceola. Switched to snow shoes for traction and the televators. Lots of postholes, but the trail was firm enough for light traction as long as one stayed in the center.

The ridge walk was softer and snow shoes filled the bill all the way to Osceola and back to the steeps of the East Peak. Crampons worked great coming down. Light traction probably would work because of all the boot steps to track in. Two guys coming up bare booting as I was putting my crampons on. I ask them If they had traction. The reply was, yes but we left them in the car. Oh well.

Switched back to snow shoes on the flat for the walk out.

Lots of blow-downs on the Greeley Ponds Trail. I cleared about a half dozen.

No ice so far.
