Thought Caps Ridge Trail would provide a fast pop to Jefferson. Man! Was I mistaken. Just enough snow to make trail conditions dangerous. Would not recommend this trail. Slippery climbing the Caps and took 3 hours to summit. High winds & cold temps made for an exhausting day. Decided Jewell was a much better choice for the descend. Heavy fog below Clay hindered our visibility. Upper section of Jewell very slippery & demanded patience. Lower section of Jewell & Boundary Line Trails were awesome. 1.5 mile road walk stunk.
All in all, a great adventure . |
