Packed snow on trail starting at the intersection of the loop trail. Put Microspikes on at this point and kept them on until return to loop intersection. They were helpful and I would recommend them for the conditions at this point (preferably an older pair as there is still lots of slippery rock peaking through). Saw quite a few people bare booting who managed but wish they had brought some traction. A few inches of snow up high and lots of lovely snow laced trees. A winter wonderland in October - I'm hoping the snow is here to stay in the mountains! |
