considered options and settled on Isolation today. Opted on Rocky Branch ascent as conditions did not look that great on Glen Boulder route. Easy walk through deep leaves to height of land. Cut off corner and crossings by following herd paths out from the .25 sign with some wet and scrappy areas but generally good footing. The usual wet areas to the upper crossing which was easily passed. From there to the campsites a wet and muddy mess..slow going. Cut off a bit with campsite herd path. Davis Path in fine shape. Greeted by good friend Gary and his friend Steve on the summit and spent some good time lolligagging on the summit enjoying the fine views. As it had cleared out Val and I decided to join our friends heading out via Glen Boulder. Fine ascent with great trail work done on Davis Path. Once to treeline we were greeted with fine views. Glen Boulder a little rough on descent in places but the great views and good company made for a fine trip. Great day out!!! |
