Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Met a beautiful golden lab mix(?) who was sweet, happy, and very well-behaved. Nice dog, great owner. Max found the bushwhack "interesting." He tolerated it with good humor, and he and I managed the retractable leash quite well, but he was much happier when he returned to Osceola Trail.

Comments
Comments: Excellent day out with our friend Samantha. The 'whack to Middle Osceola starts on a herd path by the last switchback coming up the trail on the way to the main peak of Osceola. One or two tenths of a mile in, the herd path ends in a jumble of blowdowns. We went around the blowdowns on the left, then took the herd path to the right immediately after the blowdowns. That "path" more or less led us to the summit (there were some obstacles here and there). We weren't sure exactly where the highest point was, so we wandered all over the summit area until we had stood on the highest parts of everything up top. A fainter herd path leads west from the summit area toward West Osceola, but we'll have to get that one another day.
