Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Shortly after moving north from shelter number three encountered several washed out slides - no big deal. About a mile after crossing the river branch (no sign) nothing but massive blowdown all the way to about 4200 ft. - trail was completely obliterated. Between hopping along the top of the blow down and plowing through thick pine made it only to just before the start of the rise on the side of Monroe before dark and continued for a bit at night before bedding down (moss and moose poop everywhere). Next morning got out of the blowdown just at the start of the steep section and located the trail. Trail under blowdown area is unrecognizable
