Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Crossings of Spur Brook on slick rocks--easy today with low water levels but possibly tricky with higher flows.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: RMC doing trail work on Amphibrach. Nicely maintained trails. Upper part of Amphibrach and lower part of Spur Tr. have "steep, rough section" according to book; but nice footpath with excellent work made this section enjoyable in my opinion. One large blowdown on Valley Way slightly below Valley Way tentsite.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: As mentioned in many Northern Pressie reports; the rocks may be rough on their paws. Hats off to the owner who had to catch Shiya; who had run back up Madison and was trying to join other friends running down the Watson Path. Glad he caught her and continued with his plan.
Bugs
Bugs: They were about but not bothering.

Comments
Comments: Near perfect day; low 50's, minimal winds and lots of sunshine. Mother Nature was kind to us today as fog lifted out of King Ravine in the short time we were at the Lower and Upper Crags allowing for great views down below. Summits in clouds early but departed in time so that conditions were clear for entire hike. Cold Brook Fall, Cold Spur Ledges and Chandler Fall well worth the short side trips; have to check them out with higher water flows. Also Lower Crag, Crag Camp and short path out to Knight's Castle have nice viewing spots. Nice, less traveled loop. All trails in nice shape with Valley Way wet with several slick rocks on upper half and then deep leaves covering rocks and roots on lower parts requiring more caution than normal. Happy to have the full day out today and Emerel pleased he didn't get repeat of hike earlier this month just south of here as it was looking to be early on in day.
