Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All have wide bridges or are trivial trickles.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: All trails clear and mostly in good shape, but a few notes for Boott Spur Trail: the upper string of big bridges (around 3500') are all shot and have spikes sticking out so watch out. A large duck under just above those bridges, 8-10", 5' above the trail. 3-4" duck under down low that if I'd not forgot my saw I would have dealt with.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Rough Presi rock-hopping and only a few sips above treeline. Bring water, watch their paws, should be fine for experienced dogs. Many out and about.
Bugs
Bugs: Saw some bugs flitting around, they poses no annoyances.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Found: red bandana and a pair of sunglasses, both on the Boott Spur Trail. Pinkham Notch VC has them if they are yours. Also saw a ton of toilet paper along the trails... Seriously folks, pack it out or stay home!

Comments
Comments: Tuckermans on Columbus Day weekend on a nice day. Should have been packed, but 7am starts tend to get you up before the hordes. Which it did today. Had the trail to myself from Hermit to the summit aside from one real early riser heading down as I topped the head wall. Busy but not crazy on George, I didn't stay long though. Good thing, as I descended the Gulfside to the Westside (shameless red-lining) I saw 3 stuffed cog cars heading up right on each others' heels. Lots of traffic on Crawford Path to the closed hut. Busy in Monroe too. Surprisingly busy on the Davis Path near Boott Spur. Quiet on descent. All told though, I missed the crowds and had a pretty quiet day on the trails aside from a couple concentrated spots, which I wasn't expecting.

Somewhat gloomy forecast, but I was treated to a spectacular undercast to the east, completely covering even the Carters. Sea of white to the east all day, though the Carters and Wildcats shook the clouds in the afternoon. Washington and Monroe were mostly clear all day, the Northerns were mostly covered all morning at least, the Southerns and the Pemi broke free around noon. Blue skies ruled where I was all day though! The trails were awesome, though predictably rough being the Presis. Boott Spur was a rough descent at the end of a long day. Such a great hike though, and lots of trails to sharpie out!

Pics will be up in a couple days.
