Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails in good shape. Some brushing had been done on Garfield Ridge trail. One blowdown between Liberty and Haystack but easy to duck under.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Cinnilla had a great day. Per carried water for her on the long stretch on the FRT. Enjoyed a dip into Garfield Pond.
Bugs: none
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: FOUND a nice jacket on the GRT halfway between Garfield and Skookumchuck jct. Please contact me and I will forward it to you.
Comments: It was a great day weatherwise. Some sun, high clouds and a spritzle on Mt. Lincoln and approaching the TH on the Gale River Road parking. Lots of hikers out on Franconia Ridge but otherwise we had the trail to ourselves.
Met a thru-hiker from Munich, Germany, 87 years old! He looked tired and said he is heading for Gorham and then will call it quits; but still an amazing feat at his age.
