Trail is in great shape. Franconia Ridge is dry and perfect. There was very little wind except on Lafayette. Falling Waters has some wet rock but nothing that could not be managed with care on the descent. Going up Falling Waters is probably safer, as the steep sections on the Old Bridle Path are dry. I personally prefer the views, though, walking south on the ridge and just take it very slow going down Falling Waters. The fall foliage is starting to peak and should be wonderful the next two weeks. Surprised to see that the Greenleaf Hut was still open. Great day to be out. |
