Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Snowshoes
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Minor crossings on Rocky Branch Trail (to height of land) are open and flowing, but crossable with wet boots. Bushwhacked to avoid the first four Isolation Trail crossings. Crossing 5 was running a bit high, but we found some snowbanks leading to a decent rock hop 15 feet downstream. All of these crossings are open and the current is swift. The minor crossing above this is running and partially snowbridged.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Some blowdowns on each of the trails, as well as lots of leaners on Davis Path, but nothing too bad.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Soft snow and high water crossings are probably too much for dogs.

Comments
Comments: Snowline climbed about 100 vertical feet during the day. Mostly snow free up to about 1,800 feet (a few minutes above the second ski trail junction). Snow becomes 2-3 feet deep not too long thereafter. Monorail forming, though some barebooters postholed it up to about 2,000 feet during the day. Snowshoes were ideal. Followed the March Engine Hill bushwhack route for the first half, then went a bit more direct for the second half, reaching the Isolation Trail a minute or two below crossing 3. Engine Hill glades have a good 3 feet of snow - snowshoes absolutely necessary. Above water crossing 5, snow depths 4-5 feet. Snowshoes gave us good floatation all the way to the summit and back.
