Perfect weather, and timing for a Pemi Loop attempt. A very alpine 1:09am start, traversing over Flume and Liberty in the moonlight, and stowing the headlamp on Little Haystack. Sunrise and moonset between Lincoln and Lafayette, then into the thick of it on Garfield Ridge. This section definitely went better than last time, but was still rough. My friend Tim caught up with me at Galehead Hut and we hiked the rest of the loop together. Cloudless views all the way to the Adirondacks. What a day to be out! |
