	Parking/Access Road Notes:	only a couple of cars today at the lot. road is in great shape

	Surface Conditions:	Dry Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Mud - Significant

	Recommended Equipment:

	Water Crossing Notes:	crossings on the reroute and the old trail both low and easily crossed today

	Trail Maintenance Notes:	trail in decent shape with no blowdowns. much loose rock on sections of the switchback

	Dog-Related Notes:

	Bugs:	the little ones that get in your eye were prevalent down low but once the climb started they went away

	Lost and Found:


	Comments:	day 4 of hiking with my nephew Ben. Blue sky coming through the Notch quickly turned to overcast. Lower reroutes very rooty in spots. I took Ben the old way to show the storm damage which is still pretty interesting to see and easily travelled. Got a quick shower which greased up the rocks just as we started up. Thunder to the south as we approached the ridge and after a bit of debate we continued and did not get rained on the rest of the way. Nice views with clear and swirling clouds along the ridge and we stayed on the tower a bit watch the storms to the south. Tedious descent at times. The woods in the lower sections were lovely today. Congrats to Ben for getting number 32 on this trip!!
