The last 1/4 of Downes Brook trail is on the edge of the major blowdown that occurred on the Kate Sleeper trail, its passable but gymnastics are required |

Downs Brook Slide was a bit wetter than past trips, the upper slides were real slick, we stuck to the trail rather than going on the ledges. Down lower in the sun they were much better.
The swimming pool with the water fall above it was impressive as usual. We were running later so didn't partake of it.
The trail definitely requires navigation, once the slides start slowing up the path tends to head for the open ledges which are quite slick and steep, with a bit of care the trail usually reappears in the woods adjacent to the slides. |
