Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Crossings on Jewell and Boundary Line all easy rock hops
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Boundary Line Trail is in need of some TLC, lots of stepover and duckuner blowdowns of all sizes including on large 2 foot you'll need to crouch low to get under.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Caps Ridge might be a challenge for some with steep scrambles across caps and sharp rocks above though saw 3 dogs on Caps today. Pack plenty of water - only source on my trek was spring just off gulfside just past Sphinx col and streams lower down on Jewell and Boundary Line - sun was out in its full glory today so overheating was a concern

Comments
Comments: Late start today and constant stops for picture meant many miles hiking in the dark though I got to catch sunset while heading down Jewell. Caps Ridge certainly an exciting trail with its steep scrambles and rock hopping up high. Opted to stay above treeline for a while so headed over and took Jewell down. A few patches of mud at start of Caps Ridge that can be avoided. Given the sun, stopped at spring off gulfside which is going strong to reload water supply. A few patches of mud on Jewell as you approach the streams. Boundary Line was easy to follow all the way, it has spots of mud and numerous blowdowns to get over or under. A perfect day above treeline saw numerous people out enjoying the day
