Comments
Comments: Gorgeous day in the Presis. Lots of others felt the same way, so it was crowded, especially above treeline on Jewell. It was chilly and windy going up Monroe, especially after that short, steep scramble section. Had to put on warm hat, jacket and light gloves. It was worth it, as I had the summit to myself. Temps warmed later in the morning and wind subsided a bit, so the cold was not a problem after that. Westside Trail is a gem. What a great trail and so quiet. The toughest thing about this hike was all the rocks on Gulfside and upper Jewell. It was a bit tough on the knees.
