| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Great parking. Got a ride immediately up to Glen Ellis parking from a nice couple who handed me an ice cold water. Thanks! |
|
| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Standing/Running Water on Trail |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |
|
|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
Rocky Branch is easily crossed when rocks are dry. Several crossings. Some could beba problem when rocks are wet or when swelled due to recent rain. Saw one hier using water shoes rather than risk a splash. The standing water on trail is minor. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Glen Boulder, Davis Path in great shape. Isolation Trail good. Rocky Branch not marked at all- no blazes, nothing. It's the only trail around, so no problem except for the first mile or so E. bound after the last crossing, there are several spur paths that lead to campsites, etc., and are confusing if you've never been there. The main trail, climbing the ridge, is very wet and looks like a stream bed rather than the trail which makes you wonder if you missed it. Last 3 miles out are fine. |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
Saw several. No leashes?. |

| Comments: |
I definitely would do the Glen Boulder loop. Glen Boulder and Davis Trails off the slope were the trip highlights. Isolation Trail, and the Rocky Branch, esp., were a slog. Nice summit. Great views. Saw about a dozen hikers. Worth the trip.. |
