Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Two brook crossings on lower part of Avalon Trail require some care. 
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trail wet places but mostly dry. Mud mostly minor, sometimes significant, but always avoidable by walking around or use of well-placed rocks. Plenty of blow-downs on Willey Range Trail between Field and Willey, but almost all have been cleared by axe or saw. One significant duck-under can be avoided by walk-around to right.

Bugs: No mosquitoes or black flies but a few other flies now and then. Didn't need bug dope.

Comments: Great views from outlooks near Field and Willey summits. Nice view from Mt Avalon too (well worth extra 100 yards of climbing).
