Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: I was the only car there at 6:00am (I like the early starts) three others at 1:30pm but I think they were rail trail riders.

Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Standing/Running Water on Trail
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Difficult to stay on rocks so in the spirit of August I just walked right through. The cold water felt good on the knees.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Ha! None of these trails were beginner level, all moderate to novice. What a day Kali and I had! There is erosion, trees down, you name it nothing wicked that made it impassable, it made it more fun. This was a day at the gym, for us both.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Plenty of water the route we took. I was worried about water but Kali decided the Castles were not in her future and the weather was ominous. I thought we would be that 20% that saw rain before 10am when we got to the first castle, not worth it. Let's red line!
Bugs
Bugs: some coming down Isreal Ridge Path below all the damn ladders! I was surprised to see bugs on this beautiful dry day.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: nope

Comments
Comments: Gorgeous amazing day to be out. I lolli-gagged and view looked a lot. Not like me but it was awesome. Just bonding with my dog all day. Fun trails. I decided I would go back to the Castles with a spotter (GumbyHiker). I wasn't doing them alone with a dog whining the whole way. We could have done it but I will have more fun when it isn't threatening to rain any second. Summit in the clouds when I finally got to it. Had to pull out the liner gloves. A hat may have kept the jacket off longer but I didn't have that accessory along for the ride. Jefferson # 11, the long way.
