Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All the Ammo. crossings were dry and easy on the way up. On the way down in the pouring rain, it was pretty much a river the first 2/3 of the way. I was glad to be wearing mesh runners and not trying to keep my feet dry!
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Davis Path from Boott Spur down to Isolation is a pretty rough and lightly-used and maintained trail. It clearly took a big hit from Irene, and the hard work restoring it is obvious. I loved it and found it easy going, but I've heard others complain because its not better-,manicured... And I've heard that it gets rougher south if Isolation.

Comments
Comments: This was a great out-and-back (16 miles, 6000', 9hrs.), though I don't generally like out-and-backs. I especially enjoyed the varied views along Camel and Davis north of Boott Spur, and the long slog Dow to Isolation and back up.

I was really, really tempted to ignore the closed signs and explore the Isolation Trail west toward Mizpah...
