Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: There's a step-over blowdown on Nelson Crag Trail between Old Jackson Road and treeline.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw at least thirteen dogs on Washington's summit today. Most of the dogs were happy, though we saw two who looked like they had been pushed too far. We left Max at home...he wouldn't have liked today's hike. Too far and rocky for him -- tougher trail dogs will do just fine on Nelson Crag Trail, though.
Bugs
Bugs: A few blackflies here and there, bug spray kept most of them at bay.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Found: a pair of eyeglasses on Nelson Crag Trail. They're now at Pinkham Notch Visitor Center. Lost and Found: Alex lost a baby molar while ascending Ball Crag. It came out and she dropped it near a cairn. Thankfully, Sage found it after a few minutes of anxious searching.

Comments
Comments: Sage now has the goal of hiking every trail that leads to Mt. Washington. She's done Lion's Head, Tuckerman, Boott Spur/Davis, Glen Boulder/Davis, and Ammo. We wanted to go through the Great Gulf for today's hike, but I was worried about the water levels because of the recent rain...hence the decision to do Nelson Crag Trail instead.

Had Nelson Crag Trail to ourselves until we got above treeline and close to the Auto Road parking lots. After that, we shared Nelson Crag Trail, then Tuckerman Trail and Lion Head Trail, with about 40 million other people.
