Comments
Comments: The snow is getting very soft and the trail is full of postholes and/or boot steps and in the middle section lots of blowdowns and detritus in the trail. I wore microspikes most of the way up and was able to follow others' footsteps without breaking through very often. Another heavier hiker wore snowshoes most of the way up. On the final approach to the summit up the boulder field I was breaking through too much (and too deeply) and put on snowshoes. I wore the shoes down for part of the way and then switched back to spikes. I found parts of the descent steep and slippery. As I was coming down a middle school group of about 35 kids was going up in sneakers and chinos. Hope they took the tram down!

Stay left at the orange rope to stay on the trail, right takes you to the ski slopes and a shorter, steeper ascent (and descent)and you miss the most beautiful part of the trail.
