| Water Crossing Notes: |
at least one group turned back at lower crossing which was roaring pretty good..I went upstream a little and found an easy route on rocks just under water. Another group turned on upper crossing which was also running high and a bit intimidating to some there due to steep slideslope. no problem with careful foot placement and momentum |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
some running water on trail up high but overall trail is in great shape with functioning water bars and very little brush to speak of..did practice some fluid mechanics today to get water off trail in places..lots of water running through the woods in places |

nice noon time start..needed to get out in the woods. poured through the Notch but just cloudy towards twin..sometimes you just go. while the trails were wet and water levels were high never really got rained on today. there was a cloud line around 3700 feet where it was misty but past that it was fine. didn't really miss any views today.. it felt great to be out in the woods after nursing a couple of injuries last 10 days and being busy at work. considered cannon on the way home but it was still pouring there. overall water levels were elevated at little river, gale river, ammo and upper pemi. really going strong at lincoln woods where I stopped for a second. not the day for owls head for sure!!! |
