Date of Hike: Sunday, June 23, 2013
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: The rock garden at the entrance to the parking area makes it interesting. Reel Brook Rd sign is NOT visible if approaching from the south, barely visible from the north (look for "this road is not maintained")
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Mud - Significant, Standing/Running Water on Trail
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All water crossings fairly easy rock-hops.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Waterbars in good shape. Blazing adequate, though several (6 - 8) blazed trees have blown down in the upper section and will need to be replaced. One blowdown about 2 1/4 miles from the trailhead that probably needs a chainsaw - currently a walk-under, but it is barely snagged and is going to come down.
