Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: No difficulties; there were well placed rocks on all water crossings.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Mt Cube and AT - no significant issues. Daniel Doan is in need of major trail clean-up: a lot of significant blowdowns, generally over-grown, major erosion in some sections, water bars in need of replacing/clean-up, etc. Not a pleasant trail to hike down. All trails well blazed with good signs at all intersections, except the turn direction at the esxit of the Daniel Doan Trail onto unpaved road.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: No dogs seen on the trail - but probably no issues except a lot of mud to roll-in on Daniel Doan trail.
Bugs
Bugs: Some, but not terrible. A lot of ants on many of the rocky summits making picnics less pleasant.
Lost and Found

Comments
Comments: The top part of the Daniel Doan Trail is very slippery - steep moss covered wet rocks - difficult walk arounds. This and the general poor condition of the trail makes it not too great a choice for most hikers wanting to see the great views from the top of the fire tower.
