| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
4th car in the lot at 8:30. at 12 there were 13 cars, 7 were parked along the road leading to the TH. Lot could probably hold 8 if people parked a tad tighter. |

| Water Crossing Notes: |
Nothing on this route |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
2 stacked blowdowns near the Starr King-Waumbek col, 6" variety, step-overable. Otherwise, just a few mud pits on the trail around 2300-2500ft, people have largely formed paths around them, so something to stabilize this might be good. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Didn't see any, but this should be easy for them. Several seeps on the way to Starr King for drinking. |
|
| Bugs: |
Yup. Mosquitos down low whenever I stopped for more than 5 seconds, black flies did the same on Starr King. |

Scrapped a Carrigain lolli-pop plan due to a forecast calling for heavy overcast and PM rain showers, so I headed to Waumbek to beat the forecast rains and maybe even get a little views off this peak and Starr King for once(0-3 coming in). Quick ascent, saw only one hiker until I returned to Starr King. Nothing notable about this trip, though I did get a bit of a view from both peaks, through the haze and building overcast. Good enough to finally convince me to count Starr King on my "bagged" 52-With-a-View list. Didn't stop anywhere too long aside from 10 minutes on Starr King on the way out, where 2 shy gray jays were hanging out. A decent number of people heading up on my descent, but nothing crazy, I've seen way more on this trail. Maybe 15 total. Back to the car in 3hr 35min. Yikes! Nice to be home before dinner on a Sunday for once though! Happy Father's Day to any dads out there. |
