Comments
Comments: Had planned to ski into the Bondcliff trail but thought better of after seeing the combination of ice and dirt at the start. The first half mile or so alternated between ice and dirt sections. Beyond the Osseo trail jct the cover was more consistent but still icy. The weather from Sunday/Monday had added a couple inches of snow to spruces and above the 3rd crossing it felt like it was raining as the sun melted this in rapid fashion-full rain gear was necessary under brilliant blue skies! By days end most of this had melted off so subsequent trips should be much drier. The trip up the brook drainage between the 3rd and 4th crossing is definately the way to go-I ascended via the actual trail and had trouble finding it higher up. Avoid the confusion while conditions still allow. Thanks to David for providing the impetus to head over to W. Bond late in the afternoon to finish my winter 48 and in just a shade under 23 yrs!
