Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Standing/Running Water on Trail
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Only one water crossing, the water was not high despite recent rains, and was very easy by rock-hopping.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: The trail is in excellent shape, only a couple of blowdowns (a spikey one on the Frost Trail). Some drainages on the Gale River Trail could use a cleaning, and there's some standing water on the Frost Trail close to the summit. The new (rerouted) section of the Gale River Trail is excellent.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Didn't see any dogs today, but there was plenty of water available on the Gale River Trail, not as much higher up but of course there's water at the hut.
Bugs
Bugs: Minor amount of bugs in the parking lot
