Water Crossing Notes: Two small ones rock hoppable

Trail Maintenance Notes: Footbed of Scaur ridge very nice but small maples and beech growing in on the sides in the lower half. Many blowdowns on the upper half, goes-unders, goes-overs and goes-arounds!

Dog-Related Notes: South slide would be a problem for dogs. Not much water on trail.

Bugs: Black flies, worse if you stopped.

Comments: Had forgotten how long the walk in is, how steep and rocky Pine Bend Brook is and also why I don't usually do this route because of the south slide! But it was a beautiful day out with Cymbidium, Met only 2 other hikers, one of whom came up the north slide.
