 | Comments: |
It was full on Winter conditions today on Mt. Adams with LOTS of fresh snow up high, probably about 6 inches but drifting up to 3 feet. Winds were very strong at about 60 MPH gusting to 80 MPH. Luckily we were carrying just enough winter gear that we were able to summit. Lots of groups had to turn around from weather, due to wearing shorts with just a hydration pack etc. Crampons or Microspikes could have been useful, but we did not bring them since we totally underestimated how much snow would be up there... |
