This trip was part of the AMC Spring Hiking Program. The weather forecast has changed so many times even on the morning of the hike. We were prepared for the worst with rain gear, traction, extra layers etc. The weather couldn't make up its mind for the duration of the hike. It ranged from slight drizzle, snow, wind, rain, more snow. By the time we made it to the top there was at least 6" of snow, snow men, snow angles, you name it. We were prepared so the hike was enjoyable. I suspect that there will be a lot of snow melt over the next few days so I expect the trail to be very muddy and water crossings to be slightly faster/higher but remain crossable. |
