Comments
Comments: Did this as an overnight. Stayed at the cabin. Thank God (and the scouts and forest service) for the cabin! Long ride from Lawrence, MA plus first somewhat big hike with full pack for the year. Knew we would probably be tired. Weather was iffy, but Cabot is a good trip for that. Mists and intermittent sunshine (Mon) brought out the beauty of the mossy areas and new green. Some patches of ice and snow toward the top, no big deal. Last mile or so was relentless (probably would not have been if we had more under our belts for 2013), so seeing the outhouse was a beautiful sight (and not for the usual reason!). The whole area around the cabin and summit was very green. Weather broke for some beautiful views. Nice to have a dry spot for the night. Heavy rain in the morning, met LongMark and Cinilla on the way down. Lots of red trillium, violets (white and purple) and hobblebush.
