Parking lot at Ferncroft was packed -- folks were parking alongside the access road to the lot. Still, there was room for more... |

Water crossings were not an issue. |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trails overall were in good shape. Blueberry Ledge Cutoff needs a small amount of brushing (hobblebush) in a couple of areas, and the first steep section heading north is a bit eroded. Blueberry Ledge Trail is quite nice, with recent waterbar clearing, brushing, and blowdown removal. The only item of note on this trail is one medium-sized blowdown, on a ledge about 0.1 south of the intersection with the McCrillis Trail, where the trail hooks to the left -- but the corridor and the change in direction is obscured by the blowdown. Rollins Trail to the Mt. Whiteface summit is in good shape. |

| Bugs: |
Bugs were almost non-existent -- a couple of wayward black flies on the south summit, but that was it. Certainly not some of the swarms seen a day or two earlier. |

| Comments: |
We took the Blueberry Ledge Cutoff/Blueberry Ledge Trail up and the Blueberry Ledge Trail down -- both are nicely maintained and fast-moving. Always love the scrambly ledges on the approach to the south summit.
Trails are almost completely dry except for a very small section of fast-melting monorail and a patch or two of mud on the Rollins Trail near the summit.
Ledges were bone dry and easily traversed (although that most likely changed a few hours later with the rain that came in). |
