Comments
Comments: pine bend brook trail was entirely snow free to the junction with Scaur ridge trail. mostly dry, a little mud, entirely avoidable. between the junction and the summit of north there is still a fair amount of snow and ice, especially on the steeps. i carried spikes, but was never tempted to take them off my pack. probably still a good idea to have them for at least another week or so. between north and middle there was much less snow all easily avoidable. a big congratulations to Joe and his dad!! met lots of great hikers today.
