| Dog-Related Notes: |
I DON'T BELIEVE THE Hi-CANNON IS GOOD FOR DOGS. LAST YEAR I SAW ONE HOVERING UNDER THE LADDER WHILE HER MISTRESS WENT TO THE TOP OF CANNON, ANOTHER TIME I WATCHED A GUY DRAG A PRETTY BIG DOG UP THE LADDER MOSTLY BY HIS NECK |

| Comments: |
We started out when it was still chilly. Trail was bare but above the ladders all the wet rocks were glazed with ice but still able to get up without spikes and still stay off the vegetation. Put spikes on to come down but realized that most of the ice was melting fast as the day was warming up. On the flat areas above the ladders there were some patches of hard ice left over from packed snow but nothing to worry about and certainly not a monorail. There was a lot less mud than I expected but the cool temps probably contributed to that. Very windy on the platform but the views were great. Nice outing with the Over the Hill hikers. |
