All trails were nicely broken out, and prior to yesterday, it was only broken out and clear to South Carter, but now all the way to Middle Carter, and we were fortunate enough to be behind two hikers that finished breaking the trail from South to Middle, it had taken them 3 hours to break that distance.
We backtracked, for continuing would have been very difficult to complete the loop to the Imp trail.
Note: There are a couple of extra trails going up the Carter Dome trail in order to cut off some of the switch backs but all lead back to the main trail. Also, at the first major water crossing, someone had gone straight..but there are now branches of trees to "state" that this is not the trail, but a way up the gully if you so choose to go that route.
Carter Dome and Carter-Moriah to Carter Dome, South and Middle Carter all nicely broken out. |
