Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: The Mount Kinsman Trail from the road to the Bald Knob spur is one of the nicest sections around. Lots of work done there and it has paid off with nice stable footbed. The driest I have ever seen that trail. Be careful flicking your butts on this trail..very dry forest floor

Bugs
Bugs: swallowed my first one of the year..there were others around but never an annoyance
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: various snow baskets, hair scrunchies and a surprizing amount of TP on this trail

Comments
Comments: Plan C with a rather civilized start time. Lower trail in fine shape, the reroute in particular has hardened off nicely. Saw a few folks going to Bald Knob. Patchy icy spots above the upper reroute and I put on spikes there. Not much of a monorail here but rather a near continuous band of decaying ice. while spikes were fine today I would guess if it gets cold again something more aggressive might be warranted as opposed to trashing up the moss and vegatation on the sides of the trail .Kinsman Ridge Trail had some snow and a decent rail in places, spikes helped to keep you on it. Most of the ledges to North still had some cover. Summit bare down almost to the col. Much deeper, softer snow from the col to South..still a rail but the folks I saw weren't on it and were postholing badly. Great views from South today..a little summer haze in the distance. Fun boot ski down to the col in nice corn snow. Good stuff and a great day to be out
