Crossings were fine on the way up. I was the last one off the mountain and some snow bridges collapsed beneath me. Use care. |

Blowdowns were avoidable around/under. |

Baron (45 lb ASTCD) tweaked an ankle when he postholed in the col between N and S peak. |

Just some bees on the N summit ledges, no issues with them, though. |

Black Red Sox cap just below N summit. Nalgene hanging from tree right above what appeared to be a small avalanche area on Fishin' Jimmy. |

4K's numbers 14 and 15 for Baron and myself and we couldn't have asked for better weather. I think the trail disagreed. 11am start and by the end of the day the snow had softened up significantly. Microspikes after the first switchback on Lonesome Lake trail for the remainder of the day. Packed snowshoes but didn't use them (purely because I didn't want to deal with taking them on and off for differing conditions, might be useful for anyone attempting the Kinsmans this week in the warm weather.) Summits are almost completely clear of snow. Monorail depth ranges from inches to 3 feet. Stable trail is only about 12-18 inches wide and very chewed up. |
