Comments
Comments: Classic spring hike. Brought snowshoes, micro spikes and all winter gear. Kilt and winter gaiters, short sleeve shirt. Bare booted all day, saw a few people with Hillsounds. Encountered soft snow about a mile from the C-M junction on the Stoney Brook. From that point on even on the ridge it was exposed ledge and soft snow, a narrow monorail. I realized today how much I hate hiking in this season in the whites, skidded and postholed all the way from the summit to just below the ridge. With the warming up it will only get worse. Someone stated the conditions on another spring hike yesterday by stating it just sucks.well enjoy.
