Comments
Comments: Absolutely gorgeous day to be above tree line! Light winds at both of the summits, and along the ravine coming down Crawford Path to Lakes Hut. Both Jewell trail and Ammonoosuc Ravine have some 'interesting' variations to the summer paths, but doable. Low elevation trails are hard packed and can be trekked using microspikes, but using snow shoes as you go higher helps to preserve the trails! Everything above tree line is wind blown and hard packed, with the exception of an occasional snow drift. It's probably wise to stick with crampons and carry an ice axe in case of a slide!
A special thank you to Chris, who let us tag along on his descent of the Ammonoosuc Ravine trail!
