|
| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
The road to the trailhead is plowed, but was very icy on the day of this hike. But it almost doesn't matter about the condition of the road since the trailhead parking lot is unplowed. |
|
| Surface Conditions: |
Snow - Unpacked Powder, Snow/Ice - Frozen Granular |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |
Snowshoes |
|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
Water crossings were ice-bridged, but this will change quickly with the warmer temperatures and the rain that is soon to come. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
During this first 0.8 miles, there were a few blowdowns, but all could easily be worked around. |

The first 0.8 miles of the Reel Brook Trail is broken out, but that's it! I just didn't want to get anyone's hopes up if they happen to venture onto this trail and think that it would be broken out all the way to the Kinsman Ridge.
Trail conditions were NOT the cause for only breaking out 0.8 miles of the trail. My partner Steve & I simply left the trail at this point to bushwhack up to Harrington Pond. If you're interested in reading a Trip Report of our adventure, there's a link provided at the bottom of this report. |
