| Comments: |
Waterville Valley closed yesterday due to lack of crowds, not lack of snow. Ascended the ski slopes up to a herd path to the hiking trail - wall to wall coverage on the snowmaking ski trails.
From there up, the Mt. Tecumseh Trail is well enough packed to support boots, but I wore snowshoes for traction. There hasn't been much melting at this elevation yet...the blazes on the second to last turn on the Tecumseh summit loop (right at the junction) are still just barely above the snowpack.
Less traffic on the Sosman Trail out to the top of the ski area...I suspect you could boot it, but snowshoes might be needed as the snowpack softens. |
